The ancients called it Asia Minor - that landmass protruding from the depths of Asia into the eastern Mediterranean. Since the dawn of time this land has been the dividing line between the Orient and Occident. Starting from the time of the Bible the land and peoples of Anatolia have played a major part in the history of civilization. The story of mankind in Anatolia, however begins before even Noah and Abraham and the kingdoms of the Bible; it dates back to the early stone age.

Anatolia held always a strategic position in this part of the world being a natural land-bridge between east and west and the only sea-passage from the Black Sea and Mediterranean or vice versa. That's why many ancient civilizations came, conquered, invaded or settled on this fertile land which is surrounded by Black Sea, Marmara Sea, Aegean and Mediterranean.

Today's Republic of Turkey is one of the most interesting tourist destinations on the world, not only because of its golden sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, but also for its great cuisine, very hospitable people and hundreds of historical sites. And Turks owe everything to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey.

Because of the many archaeological sites and the difficulty of the Turkish language, if you're planning a visit to this country we suggest you to take an official professional tour guide who speaks your language and has a very deep knowledge of his/her culture. On this web site you'll find some information about Turkey and some related links to many features on Turkey. We hope to see you soon in this beautiful country.
